The State government has requested the Smart Cities Council India, which held its fifth summit here last week, to consider setting up a ‘Smart Area’ around Cyberabad with companies that can demonstrate smart solutions for city planners to visit and experience.
IT and Industries Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, speaking on the concluding day of the event, lauded the efforts of the Council and said the Government was ready to support all the “smart technologies which offer efficient solutions for improving the lives of citizens and offer an ecosystem at areas such as Cyberabad”.
Earlier, three cities — Surat for Citizen Service Delivery and Smart Transportation, Vijayawada for Smart Solid Waste Management and Vadodara for Smart Public Safety — bagged the 2018 Smart Project Awards. The Best SPV CEO Award, based on votes received from the respective citizens, also went to Surat’s M. Nagarajan followed by Gwalior’s CEO Mahip Tejaswi. Gayam Motor Works got the best startup award — Innovation Hub, from among many offering smart solutions.
