July 22, 2014 12:12 am | Updated 12:12 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A division bench of Hyderabad High Court comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothisen Gupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar on Monday directed the State Government of Telangana to file affidavit regarding the steps being taken by it to resolve the allegations of improper design of ‘State Emblem’

The bench was adjourning by two weeks the case filed by T. Dhangopal Rao, human rights activist of the city, complaining about the ‘improper’ design of the newly launched “Telangana Government Emblem” approved by the State Government.

He said that the design was in contravention to the State Emblem of India (Prohibition of Improper Use) Act, 2005. The special government pleader appearing for the Telangana government said that the government has already initiated steps to rectify lapses, if any, in the emblem. The bench made it clear that an affidavit may be filed in this regard.
