Staff of TS, AP Bhavans fight it out

Alleging unauthorised use, Telangana complains against Andhra Pradesh

In a development on Monday which caught outsiders by surprise, officials of the Telangana Government at the Telangana Bhavan accused their AP counterparts in New Delhi of unauthorised use of its RC bungalow and lodged a complaint.

Even after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the Bhavans of the two new States continue to be on the same premises.

The two wings in the premises are shared by both Bhavans on a proportionate basis.

In a press release issued here, the Telangana Bhavan said the RC bungalow, which was in the control of Telangana, was being used unauthorisedly by AP officials by allocating it for rentals. It was also learnt that certain illegal activities were going on there, the Telangana Bhavan said.

“It is clarified that the Bungalow is earmarked as RC Bungalow and cannot be used for any other purpose. Since it is located next to Sabari block which houses Governor, Deputy Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, DGP and Chief Advisor, and since unauthorised movement of people was becoming a security concern, the entrance was sealed and the building was locked to prevent its misuse.

“However, certain officials of AP have broken open the seal and lock today. The entire incident has been video-graphed and an FIR filed against the concerned persons for trespassing and entering into a public building illegally,” it said.
