The Commission of Inquiry for STs, Telangana State, on Sunday called on the siblings of Chauhan Akhila, an Intermediate student belonging to Mathura community, who was allegedly killed by her parents two days ago for falling in love with a Gond youth. Commission Chairman S. Chellappa, member H.K. Nagu and Project Officer of Utnoor Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) interacted with the siblings of the victim at their house in Neredigonda headquarter village here.

Mr. Chellappa inquired about the condition of the children as their parents have been sent to jail. He asked them to study well despite the unfortunate incident that has unsettled the whole family. The Commission later visited Kolamguda of Keslapur in Indervelli mandal to observe the ongoing election to Village Tribal Development Agencies in the tribal mandals. The S. Chellappa Commission is inquiring and studying various aspects associated with the culture and lifestyle of Kaithi Lambadas, also known as Mathuras and Valmiki Boyas, to assess the chances of they being included in the list of Scheduled Tribes.
