Special classes for SSC fail students

May 22, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:51 am IST - KARIMNAGAR:

In view of many students of government schools failing in Maths and Science subjects in the recent SSC examinations, the School Education Department decided to conduct special coaching classes and help them pass in the ensuing supplementary examinations.

District Educational Officer K Lingaiah told The Hindu on Thursday that the special coaching classes for the SSC failed students would be given at their respective schools from May 25 between 8 a.m. and 12 noon.

The supplementary examinations would begin from June 18, he said and added that special coaching classes would be held for 20 days to help the students so that they do not lose one academic year. He said that the schools would be functioning normally during this season after the release of SSC results with the presence of headmasters and the school assistants in all the schools. There would not be any problem in the conduct of special coaching classes in the schools, he said. It may be recalled that a total of 15,018 students of government schools have failed in either Maths or Science subjects in the SSC examinations.

The students of government schools performed poorly in the SSC exam following the change in syllabus and introduction of CCE model of education in the district. The Karimnagar district was placed sixth in the SSC pass percentage during this year results.

Coaching will be given at their respective schools from May 25 between 8 a.m. and 12 noon
