Special campaign on family planning

Collector Neetu Prasad has stressed on the need for launching special campaign to educate people about the importance of following small family norms.

Speaking at the World Population Day celebrations organized at Krushi Bhavan here on Monday, she expressed concern over the population explosion in the country and diminishing resources. She asked the officials to launch special campaign to educate eligible couples to undergo sterilization.

With the onset of monsoon and the subsequent outbreak of seasonal diseases, the Collector told officials to take appropriate measures to check contamination of water sources. Instructing the doctors to make themselves available at all the hospitals to treat the patients for seasonal diseases, she also asked them to encourage only normal deliveries.

Legislator G. Kamalakar asked the medical authorities to educate men on the need for undergoing sterilization. District Medical & Health Officer A. Rajesham, Additional DM&HO Udaychander, DCHS Ashok Kumar and others were present.
