The Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) was revamped by bringing in new executives of IT companies on Wednesday. Cyberabad Commissioner C V Anand will be the chairman of the body.
The move is aimed at bringing in more professionalism into the body that deals with the security aspects of IT companies operating in different parts of Cyberabad. Started eight years ago the SCSC as of now concentrates mainly on security and traffic management in Madhapur IT corridor in coordination with the police.
“Reorganisation was done in order to increase the total level of activities. We will soon be spreading to other IT areas like Uppal, Pocharam and Adibatla. We expect more activity in future in these areas,” Cyberabad Commissioner C V Anand said.
There are around three lakh employees working in different companies in the IT corridor and about one lakh of them are women. Women's security is an important subject and all steps will be taken to safeguard them. Apart from SHE teams the security personnel and cab drivers are also being sensitised about the women safety, he added.
The new body has members from Hyderabad Software Enterprises Assocation (HYSEA) and National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) and other IT associations.
The newly appointed members are Secretary Bharani Kumar, vice president at Butler America Inc; Joint Secretary (operations) – Srikanth Srinivasan – Regional Director of NASSCOM Telangana and Amercia; Joint Secretary (projects) – Krishna Yedula vice president at Polaris Financial Technology Limited; Joint Secretary (Women Council) - Mamata Vegunta, Director, Human Resource at Invesco Hyderabad; Convenor – DCP Madhapur Kartikeya and Treasurer – G Ramesh, I- Labs.
Apart from this there are 22 executive members from 22 different comities. Four sub committees on Traffic, Security, Women issues and Membership forum will also function.
