SMS alerts to SHOs on witnesses for trials

January 07, 2015 12:44 am | Updated 12:44 am IST - ADILABAD:

Station House Officers of police stations concerned in Adilabad will soon get the facility of SMS alerts from the Court Monitoring System (CMS) so that they can produce witnesses in courts during trials. This system will save considerable time for the undertrial prisoners and other litigants as the SHOs will know in advance if there is any change in the schedule of appearance or hearing witnesses.

A meeting of Judges in the district courts, police officers, Additional Public Prosecutors and advocates was held here on Tuesday to discuss improvements needed for making the CMS more effective. The point was to save precious time and energy in transporting especially undertrials to courts and avoiding adjournments.

Among those who were present were Superintendent of Police Tarun Joshi, District Judge G. Gopala Krishna Murthy, Special Judge SC, ST court, Rajkumar, Secretary District Legal Services Authority K. Ajitha Simha Rao, Bar Association president Bipin Kumar Patel, Additional PPs and DSPs.
