Siddipet trashes plastic, opts for earthern bottles

To be introduced in govt. offices first

In a move to free the district headquarters of plastic, the Siddipet municipality would introduce bottles and boxes made of fired mud. These bottles will be introduced in the government offices in the first phase.

Collector P. Venkataram Reddy has informed that as many as 5,000 bottles are being introduced as per the direction of Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao. Most Backward Classes corporation chairman T. Srinivas and Joint Collector Padmakar examined the bottles, which will be introduced at the government hospital too.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Srinivas said the mud bottles are being introduced as part of encouraging caste-based professions like pot making. “We are employing the latest technology to prepare these bottles that will be used in schools, colleges and hospitals. A total of 31 master trainers will impart training in this regard in all 31 districts.” he added.
