Sub-Inspector attached to the Kukunoorpally police station in Medak district, T. Ramakrishna Reddy, committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver at his quarters. The incident took place at 1.50 a.m. on Wednesday. He reportedly left a three-page suicide note in which he alleged that he had been harassed by Deputy Superintendent of Police and some other constables. An inquiry was ordered into the incident. Nizamabad Additional Superintendent of Police Pratap Reddy would conduct the inquiry, according to Superintendent of Police Chandrasekhar Reddy, who visited the spot.

According to sources, Ramakrishna Reddy made calls to two constables and said that he was taking the extreme step. They immediately reported the same to Gajwel Sub-Inspector Kamalakar, who rushed to Kuknoorpally. But by the time he reached the spot, Ramakrishna Reddy had killed himself. His body was shifted to the Gajwel area hospital.

Ramakrishna Reddy was a native of Bakkamantragudem of Mathampally mandal in Nalgonda district. Before being posted at Kuknoorpally, he worked at Lakdi-Ka-Pool and Sultan Bazar areas in Hyderabad. He is survived by wife and two children.

Alleging that DSP Sridhar and Circle Inspector Venkataiah were responsible for his suicide and demanding action against them, his relatives held a dharna at Gajwel disrupting traffic for some time.
