Hanuman devotees and activists of Rastriya Swayam Sevak Sangh, Bajrang Dal, Viswa Hindu Parishad, and Hindu Vahini took out an impressive motorbike rally on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in Nizamabad and Kamareddy on Saturday.
The ‘Shobhayatra’ which began at Sri Neelakanteswar temple at Kanteswar on Armoor Road concluded at Gol Hanuman temple passing through Subashnagar, Gandhi Chowk and Bada Bazar. A large number of Hanuman devotees who took ‘vratham’ by wearing saffron clothes arrived from different parts to participate in the rally.
A similar rally was also organised in Kamareddy and other places.
The participants holding huge saffron flags shouted slogans of ‘Jai Bajrang Bali’.
Police made elaborate security arrangements and effectively regulated the vehicular traffic by diverting it to other areas from the ‘Shobhayatra’ route.
Zaheerabad Member of Parliament B.B. Patil and Jukkal MLA Hanmanthu Shinde offered prayers at famous Hanuman temple at Salabathpur in Madnur mandal on the occasion.
Celebrations postponed
Adilabad Special Correspondent writes: Hanuman Jayanti celebrations slated for Saturday were postponed owing to the onset of the lunar eclipse early in the day.
The shobha yatras to be taken out by devotees of Lord Hanuman will now be taken out on April 7, according to organisers of shobha yatra at the Ponnari Hanuman temple.
In view of closure of all temples at 8 a.m., devotees started offering prayers in temples from 4 a.m. Prayers were also offered in the night after the temples opened at 8 p.m., following passing over of the eclipse.
The annadanam programmes to be held in the Hanuman temples at Ponnari village and Dasnapur were also postponed. They will now be organised on April 7 at Ponnari.
