Scribe sustains injuries

A journalist of a vernacular daily sustained multiple injuries when a loader bucket attached to a JCB machine hit him at the inaugural ceremony of desilting work of Erracheruvu tank under “Mission Kakatiya” in Raghunadhapalem mandal on Friday.

The injured scribe was identified as P. Satyanarayana, 40, of Khammam.

Sources said that Satyanarayana sustained injuries on is shoulder and back. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital by the organisers . His condition is stated to be stable. The incident occurred due to the alleged negligence of the operator of the JCB machine.

There were more than three persons in the operator’s cabin of the machine when the incident occurred, sources added.

Earlier, Shankar Naik, the nodal officer (Mission Kakatiya), Khammam, performed special pujas at the site marking the formal commencement of the desilting works.
