Scrap Land Bill: Swamy

Chairman of the BJP Strategic Action Committee Subramanian Swamy said on Saturday that the Land Acquisition Bill of the Centre should be scrapped as it was bound to be misused.

In an interactive session at Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology here, Mr. Swamy said that personally he was not in favour of the Bill. “It will not work and will lead to misuse at the lower level. I do not think it will get passed in Parliament,” he said. Mr. Swamy criticised the decision of Oxford India Society to cancel his April 3 lecture. “I was supposed to give a lecture on economics using multivariate calculus. How can I give a talk on communal multivariate calculus?” Mr. Swamy sought to know.
