March 03, 2015 02:31 pm | Updated 04:22 pm IST - NIZAMABAD:

The Three Town police registered a case and launched investigation into the missing of Rs.25 lakh in cash from the residence of one Ms. Chaitrabai of Gouthamnagar on Monday night.

According to the Deputy SP D. Anandkumar, the family belonging to Deglur in Nanded District of Maharashtra sold its four-acre land for Rs.28 lakhs and after spending three lakhs kept the remaining Rs.25 lakhs in the almirah at home. The cash was reportedly intact when they checked it in the evening.

There was no trace of breaking into the house by outsiders and as many as 25 persons of the family were living in the house. Therefore, it is suspected that there was some “mischief” within the family.

However, a case of cash missing/theft was registered and probe was launched from all angles, said the Deputy SP.
