Rs. 25,000 cr. for improving roads: Minister

Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao on Friday said that Rs. 25,000 crore would be spent in the next three years for improving road network.

Participating in various development programmes along with Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao at Patancheru constituency, Mr. Nageswara Rao said that cage wheels should not be allowed on roads by the public.

“We are constructing 358 bridges and 12,312 kilometre length of road in the State this year at a cost of Rs. 12,718 crore,” said Mr. Nageswara Rao while speaking to reporters. He said that As much as Rs. 1,714 crore was sanctioned for Medak district for laying roads and constructing bridges on a 1,828-km stretch distance.

Mr. Harish Rao said that all bridges in the State would be converted into bridge-check-dams and all efforts would be put in place for increasing the groundwater level.
