Actor and YSR Congress Party’s Nagari MLA R.K. Roja has promised all support to the “casting couch” victims, provided they approach her through proper channel.
Addressing the media in Tirumala on Sunday, Ms. Roja, recalling her stint in the Telugu film industry, said there were no complaints of casting couch till date and no police case had been registered in this regard.
“We do not know the veracity of the allegations. Victim, if any, can approach us (senior artistes), and we will extend necessary support. However, doubts remain over the present row as the “victim” has been silent for long and has not approached the police or the industry. With more clarity, action can be taken against those responsible,” she said. She, however, said it was not proper to make wild allegations against noted actors, Ms. Roja raised doubts over the approach being taken by the “victims,” including participation in pointless debates.
