RIL restores gas supply in pipeline

March 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - SANGAREDDY:

The officials of the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) have restored the gas supply between Kakinada in East Godavari district and Baruch in Gujarat late Wednesday night.

Gas supply was stopped between these two points by the RIL as a major fire broke out at Maddukunta near Sadashivapet of Medak district in the wee hours of March 2.

Spot visit

According to sources a technical team consisting of eight members had already visited the spot and stayed there for two days.

However, it has became a herculean task for the team to find out evidence as most of the accident spot was under high temperature for about five hours burning all the tubes and other material that may be useful for evidence.

On the other hand another team consisting of two members had also visited the accident spot to assess the loss that took place due to the fire accident. Both these teams were expected to submit their report to RIL office at Mumbai. The pipeline was laid by Reliance Gas Transportation Infrastructure Ltd (RGTIL), a part of Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance Industries (RIL), to supply gas from Kaninada to Bharuch.
