TPCC vice-president and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar has demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao release a white paper on the promises made to the people of erstwhile Karimnagar district during the last four years of TRS regime, along with the promises fulfilled.

In an open letter addressed to the Chief Minister, the TPCC vice-president said that the people of Karimnagar district had upheld the Telangana sentiment since the advent of TRS in 2001 and thrice elected him MP from Karimnagar parliament constituency.

People betrayed

He alleged that the CM had betrayed the people of Telangana by attaining power through false promises of making a dalit the CM, the double bedroom housing scheme, three acres land to dalits, 12 % reservations to Muslims and tribals, employment to each household and several others.

Reminding that the CM during his maiden visit to Karimnagar in August 2014 after attaining power had promised to develop Karimnagar town on the lines of London and New York cities, he said that the Karimnagar town had turned from bad to worse.

The promise of Brindavan garden, government medical college, upgradation of existing hospital on the lines of NIMS etc. only remained on papers, he stated.

He flayed the government over failing to provide double bedroom houses to the land outstees of Mid Manair Dam (MMD). He also found fault with the government for not taking any action against the police officials who had thrashed Nerella dalit victims, for opposing the sand mafia.

He also ridiculed the government for shifting the proposed Leather park and Textile park from Karimnagar to Warangal districts. He also asked when the government would appoint a vice-chancellor for the Satavahana University, a position lying vacant for over 3 years.
