‘PV too deserves Bharat Ratna’

December 24, 2014 11:14 pm | Updated 11:14 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said that not announcing Bharat Ratna for P.V. Narasimha Rao while honouring another former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and educationist Pandit Maan Mohan Malavya with the country’s highest civilian award was a void. The Telangana government had recommended the award for P.V. Narasimha Rao but it was not declared for him though he had all the qualifications for it.

At least now, it should be announced for him, Mr. Rao said in a press release adding it was coincidental that the two great personalities were declared for the award on their birthday.
