Protests rock Sircilla, Husnabad

There were wide spread protests over the bifurcation of Karimnagar district in Sircilla and Husnabad regions in the district on Friday.

Residents of Sircilla textile town formed a JAC and are agitating, demanding formation of Sircilla as district. On Friday, the BJP leaders tried to gate-crash into the house of Minister K. Taraka Rama Rao in the town. However, the police foiled their attempts and arrested the protestors. Similarly, the JAC leaders in Husnabad region staged a dharna opposing their merger with the proposed Siddipet district. They were demanding that they be included in Karimnagar district.
