‘Protect heritage land from encroachment’

May 10, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - WARANGAL:

The Kakatiya Heritage Property Protection Committee has urged the district administration to prevail over the land grabbers who have encroached the heritage lands around the historic Padmakshi temple.

Committee convenors Chikati Raju and Pingili Praveen Kumar said that constructions have come up on the valuable land on which historic Samadhi of Veera Pichamamba stands. Mr. Raju requested the district Collector to order for a survey of the land and allocate three acres for Batukamma festival. The government should also take steps to hand over the land to Archaeological Survey of India for further development with Central government funds.
