Postal staff take out protest rally

The Post India employees working in rural areas, under the banner of the All India Postal Employees Grameena Daak Sevak Union, here on Monday took out a rally demanding regularisation of services. Their other demands included constitution of a judicial committee to study on the working conditions of rural postal employees and their economic position and discontinue the efforts to privatise Postal Department in accordance to the task force recommendations.

Speaking to reporters, union division president A. Sudarshan Reddy deplored that while braving all weather in all seasons they were rendering so many important services to the people, but were getting very minimum salaries compared to other employees in other departments.
