Her husband Rajendra Prasad alias Ramesh, who worked as a temporary messenger in the Bhupalpalli branch of Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank (APGVB), stole the gold and cash from the branch and also from the Azamnagar branch on November 15 around 3 p.m. According to Rama Devi, they engaged a car at Bhupalapalli and proceeded to Srisailam , carrying the booty. On November 16, they proceeded from Srisalam to Hyderabad and then to Basar. At Nizamabad, they sent back the driver after he refused to accompany them. The family went to Gadchiroli and from there, it went to their relative’s house at Mahadevpur. Rajendra Prasad kept the booty there, stating that it was a pack of clothes and sent his family back to Bhupalpalli.
