Collector Yogitha Rana called for participation of the entire district administration in the execution of the ‘Haritha Haaram’ programme from July 8 to 22, and warned action against those employees who refused to cooperate with the change agents.

On July 8, in every gram panchayat and municipal town area on the backyard of every household five saplings should be planted in response to the call given by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, she said, while addressing the meeting of mandal change agents, MPDOs and other officials here on Monday.

The idea is to plant 28 lakh saplings across the district on Tuesday. That apart, 13 lakh saplings would be planted on the premises of public and private offices, as well as business establishments. A monitoring cell was set up to supply 40,000 plants to each gram panchayat under the Haritha Haaram, Ms. Rana said. The Joint Director, Agriculture, K. Narsimha, was asked to take initiative to plant 1.35 crore saplings by the farmers.
