Curtains came down on the hectic electioneering for the May 16 bypoll to the Palair Assembly constituency with the candidates concluding their campaign blitzkrieg on a feverish note on Saturday evening.

The constituency is set to witness mainly a keen triangular contest between Congress candidate R Sucharita Reddy, who was backed by the TDP and YSR Congress , TRS candidate and Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao and CPI-backed CPI (M) candidate P Sudarshan Rao in Monday’s bypoll. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka staged a road show in Nelakondapally, the birthplace of saint-composer Bhakta Ramadasu, to drum up support for Ms Sucharita.

He addressed a roadside meeting in the historical town along with Ms Sucharita wrapping up the party’s campaign aimed at retaining the seat. He slammed the ruling TRS for allegedly resorting to unprecedented use of money power.
