Overloading: 14 sand-laden lorries seized

The Revenue authorities in association with the police and the RTA officials raided and seized 14 sand-laden lorries for alleged overloading at Nizam Sagar early on Monday.

According to Deputy Transport Commissioner G.C. Rajaratnam, the overloaded trucks were coming from sand mines in Beerkur mandal. Cases were booked and lorries were kept under the control of Revenue Department, he said.

He also said that strict instructions were given to the transport authorities not to allow overloaded vehicles under any circumstances.
