NTPC to start mega ash brick unit

The NTPC Ramagundam, which is in the forefront in the utilization of ash, the end product of the power station to protect the environment from pollution, has decided to open its own mega ash brick unit very soon to produce huge quantity of bricks on its premises.

Disclosing this at one-day Ash users customers meet (fly ash brick\block units) at NTPC Ramagundam on Tuesday, NTPC Ramagundam executive director Prasant Kumar Mohapatra said that they were planning to set up their own mega ash brick unit as part of their mission of achieving cent per cent utilization of ash of the power station as well as meet the requirement in the construction sector. He said that the NTPC Ramagundam had so far utilized 89.22per cent of ash during the last financial year. He said that they had utilized 87.98 per cent of ash during this financial year till date. General manager (O&M) UK Dasgupta, GM (new project) MN Prasad, general manager (maintenance) Y Srinivas, AGM BK Garg were present.
