The villagers of Vemulaghat in Toguta mandal contend the notification published by the district administration to acquire the land for Mallannasagar reservoir will not stand scrutiny of law. They opined that the administration had not followed due procedure. The villagers submitted a memorandum in this regard to the district collector and other officials on Monday. Gazette notification was published in two newspapers on May 16 and 17. “We had raised objections when the notification was issued in the past but they have not been addressed so far. We asked for copies of Mallannasagar design and other project report details in Telugu, but they have not been supplied so far. Only after reading the detailed project report, we will be in a position to raise our objections.
