Notices to 16 farmers on Kondapochamma land acquisition

The State government has served notices on farmers, under Kondapochamma reservoir limits, who had not signed documents under Land Acquisition Act - 2016 or approached the court. The notices were served on Friday for 16 farmers of Thanedarpally, Bahilampur and Mamidyala, directing them to present themselves with ownership documents at the panchayat office on October 16. In the notice it was informed that the Revenue Divisional Officer of Gajwel would be present to discuss with them the land acquisition and demands of the farmers.

“The below mentioned land of 811.24 acres under Bahilampur village in Mulugu mandal was required for the construction of Kondapochamma reservoir. Primary notification was issued on November 17, 2016. Out of this, 720.07 acres was already acquired with voluntary sale by farmers under Telangana Land Acquisition Act - 2016 (Act 21 of 2017) under Section 30 A. Another notification was issued on September 10, 2017, for the remaining 91.17 acres land. Those farmers or their relatives who were mentioned in the above survey numbers may present themselves with all the relevant documents and can put forth their demands like compensation and land dimensions,” said one such notice served on one Bayyannagari Sanjeeva Reddy of Bailampur.

“Here the land costs anywhere between ₹ 20 lakh to ₹ 25 lakh. How can we sell our land for half of the cost?” asked B. Harikrishna Reddy, son of Sanjeeva Reddy.
