‘Non-university education need of the hour’

Since 70 per cent jobs were available for those having qualified secondary education, Director of Centre for Policy Research in Higher Education (CPRHE) N.V. Verghese underlined the importance of creating a non-university education sector in the country by designing industry-oriented courses.

He told students at a seminar organised by Department of Economics of Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) on the theme of Issues and Challenges of Higher Education in Newly-Formed States here on Thursday, Prof. Varghese threw light on how to improve employability among students in higher education.

He said the non-university sector must offer specific courses that would be useful for using the human resources regionally so that students and locality benefit from each other.
