The people of Karimnagar town heaved a sigh of relief, as no vinyl (flexi) posters were put up for Minister for IT and Municipal Administration K. Taraka Rama Rao’s visit here on Monday. The posters were causing serious obstruction on busy roads.
Whenever a Minister or other VIPs visit Karimnagar town, the TRS rank and file fill the road space, dividers, traffic islands, etc. with huge vinyl posters welcoming them, in turn obstructing traffic. This also causes pollution in the town.
Surprisingly, the TRS leaders did not erect a single poster to welcome the Minister on Monday.
It is learnt that Mr. Rama Rao had given strict instructions to the TRS leaders not to erect any poster to welcome him, and also warned of serious action if they do so.
However, despite the instructions given, some enthusiastic leaders erected some posters. But, the municipal authorities removed them before the Minister arrived to participate in the State convention of Mayors, Deputy Mayors, chairpersons and vice-chairpersons, and Municipal Commissioners.
People of the town requested the authorities concerned to maintain the same discipline for all political parties by completing banning vinyl posters in the town.
