A major mishap was averted thanks to a passerby at Wargal in Medak district on Sunday night, when a bus caught fire. The driver was alerted and immediately stopped the bus.

According to sources, an RTC Indira Bus going to Karimnagar from Hyderabad caught fire due to high friction in the drum wheel. The fire started to spread rapidly.

Rajesham, a passerby, alerted the driver, who stopped and made passengers get down. At the time of the accident, there were about 40 passengers in the bus. Gajwel Circle Inspector Amrutha Reddy said the situation was under control.
