Three months after the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister remarked that he did not have a proper office in the Secretariat, an impressive and grand suite of offices on the eighth floor of ‘L’ block is all ready for N. Chandrababu Naidu to move in on October 3.

Though there is no official word Mr.Naidu would move into his new office on the auspicious day of Vijaya Dasami, sources said the place would be handed over to security by Tuesday night.

The R&B which had taken up the renovation of the once dull and jaded floor did a remarkable job in transforming the entire floor into a bright, classy and ultra modern hi-tech office with all security features in place.

Security features

The Chief Minister’s chamber in the high-rise structure overlooking the main road, it is understood, has in-built security features including fortified bullet-proof window glass and concrete and painting.

The renovation done with a budget of Rs.10 crore literally transformed the place to suit the grandiose plans and vision of the hi-tech Chief Minister that Mr. Naidu is known to be.

The rich interiors, wooden flooring, wooden panelling, plush sofas, furniture, a huge Cabinet conference hall, mini-conference room, visitor’ room, VIP lounge, Chief Minister’s office, ante room, offices of his secretaries, video conference room on the seventh floor, were all done within the budget, according to official sources.

“ We did take care to ensure that the premises would be befitting of a Chief Minister’s Office, the head of the State,” an official said.

“All the facilities that existed in the Chief Minister Office in the C block in the combined State were replicated. The only difference is we made it contemporary,” he added.

“The work is almost done barring some finishing touches which will be completed by Wednesday,” said an R&B officer supervising the trial run of the access-controlled second lift provided exclusively for the use of the Chief Minister to enter into his chambers and also for the Chief Secretary and the Chief Minister’s secretaries.
