The State government is taking all measures to develop the ancient Sri Kaleshwara Muktheeshwara Swamy Devasthanam in Kaleshwaram of Mahadevpur mandal in Karimnagar district.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who visited the temple shrine on May 2, had announced to develop the shrine as international tourism centre and allocated Rs 25 crore.

Government advisor KV Ramana Chary visited the temple on Monday to review development works. Later, at a meeting with the Manthani legislator Putta Madhukar, endowments assistant commissioner D Rajeshwar, temple EO Hariprasad, tourism officials and others, Mr Chary said that they would develop the Mukteeshwara Swamy, Goddess Saraswathi and Yamakonam temples at the shrine.

He said they were chalking out strategies for construction of a pilgrim centre to provide accommodation to more pilgrims. They would construct special mandaps for the conduct of shraddha pujas along the banks of the Godavari and also widen the roads in the temple town. They had also designed plans to develop eco-tourism from Mahadevpur to the Kaleshwaram shrine.
