At a crowded meeting of party workers to mark the completion of four years of Narendra Modi’s government, Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Ram Madhav said the government at the Centre has delivered clean administration over the past four years.

“It took me 45 minutes to reach Marriott (the event venue) from Begumpet airport. At a time when distances are shrinking, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti government has slowed down things,” said Mr Madhav, who took potshots at the governments in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for “perpetuating dynastic rule”.

Earlier, State BJP president K. Laxman reeled various statistics to show the performance of the Modi government. “Many schemes running in Telangana are funded by the Centre. Now, 17 States are open defecation free. There is electricity in every village. Women now get 26 weeks of maternity leave. This meeting is to refute the unfounded allegations against the Modi government,” said Mr. Laxman.
