Minister promises help to widows of police martyrs

Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna on Tuesday, assured all possible help from the government to the widows of police martyrs. He said problems faced by the families of policemen who died in line of duty will be addressed on a priority basis.

The Minister was interacting with widows of the police martyrs at the AR head quarters as chief guest at the Police Commemoration Day parade here.

The widows apprised him of the difficulties they were facing in accessing welfare programmes meant for them.

Earlier, Mr. Ramanna followed by Collector M. Jagan Mohan, District Judge G. Gopala Krishna Murthy, Superintendent of Police Gajarao Bhupal, Adilabad Assistant SP D. Joel Davis paid homage at the martyrs memorial column.

A contingent of the AR policemen presented shok shastra on the occasion.

Mr. Bhupal also flagged off a rally in connection with the commemoration day.

The rally wound through main thoroughfares in town.
