Responding to a call given by the Union Government to encourage only banking transactions, the NTPC Ramagundam in association with State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) organised a mela for opening bank accounts at the administrative building at NTPC in Peddapalli district on Saturday.

NTPC Executive Director D.K. Dubey, who formally inaugurated the mela, called upon the contract workers to have their own bank accounts for hassle-free financial transaction. Echoing similar view, SBH branch manager K. Satyanarayana assured all possible cooperation and prompt service to contract workers.

On the first day of the mela, about 40 contract workers submitted their application for opening a bank account. The mela would continue till November 30.

AGM (new project) A.V.S. Rao, AGM (F&A) J.S. Murthy, AGM (HR) Rafiqul Islam and others were also present.
