The Sunshine Hospitals and the Sunshine Heart Institute, Hyderabad jointly organised a medical camp for the benefit of the police families at the Police Lines, here on Sunday.

‘Awareness needed’

Inaugurating the camp the Additional SP, R. Pratap Reddy said that the police personnel while being on duty were always exposed to many diseases such as stress and blood sugar and therefore they should have awareness about them.

If they followed suggestions given by doctors they could be able to overcome them, he said. In olden days there were no suitable treatments or medicines for many diseases and now-a-days if they were diagnosed beforehand they could easily be treated, he said and appealed to the police families to avail themselves of medical camps organised by the department.

350 families examined

In all, 350 police personnel and their family members were examined at the camp.

The Sunshine Hospitals doctors Anil Krishna Goondla, I.V. Reddy, Balraj, Sai Ganesh and Shravn, the SB Inspector T. Srinivas Reddy and police welfare association president Shakeel Pasha were among those who attended the camp.
