TRS wins Medak Lok Sabha seat

TRS won the Medak Lok Sabha seat by-election by a margin of 3,61,277 votes. TRS candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy polled 5,71,800 votes against Congress nominee V. Sunitha Laxma Reddy (,210,523) and BJP's T.Jayaprakash Reddy (1,86,334). After 22 rounds of counting, Medak Lok Sabha Returning Officer announced the results.

Thirteenth round

TRS candidate K. Prabhakar Reddy leads by 2,56,842 votes after 13th round of counting in Medak Lok Sabha seat by poll. TRS polled 4,06,108 votes, Congress (1,49,261) and BJP (1,66,252).

Ninth round

By the end of ninth round, TRS candidate K. Prabhakar Reddy polled 2,85,420 votes followed by Congress 1,03,070 and BJP 84,863.

Seventh round

By the completion of seventh round, TRS candidate K. Prabhakar Reddy got 2,26,148 votes followed by Congress candidate 80,608 and BJP getting 64,226 votes in Medak Lok Sabha bypolls.

Sixth round:

TRS candidate K. Prabhakar Reddy is surging ahead with a margin of 1,20,995 votes by bagging 1,90,780 votes by the end of sixth round. The Congress candidate Sunita Laxma Reddy is trailing by bagging 54,129 and the BJP's K. Jayaprakash Reddy managed to get 69,785 in the third place.

Fifth Round

After the fifth round, here's how the numbers look: TRS 1,61,301, BJP 43,977, and Congress 60,174.

Third Round

After the third round of counting in Medak Lok Sabha seat, the TRS candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy continued to maintain lead. His lead increased to 58,772 votes. The votes polled by TRS after third round is 96,742, Congress (37,970) and BJP (25,485).

Second round

There was no stopping for the TRS in Medak Lok Sabha seat by poll as its candidate K. Prabhakar Reddy secured a clear lead of 38,632 after the end of second round.

After the second round in seven segments, the TRS candidate secured 63,901 votes against 35,269 polled by Congress rival V.Sunitha Laxma Reddy and 15,052 by BJP’s T. Jayaprakash Reddy.

As the counting commenced at Gitam University campus near Sangareddy on Tuesday, Mr. Prabhakar Reddy was leading in all the seven segments – Sangareddy, Medak, Patancheru, Narsapur, Dubbak, Gajwel and Siddipet assembly segments - at the end of first round.

Initial reports said the TRS candidate was leading by 18,443 votes after the first round. The TRS candidate polled 32,394 votes, Congress nominee V. Sunitha Laxma Reddy (13,951 votes) and BJP candidate Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy (7014).

By-poll was necessitated following resignation of K. Chandrasekhar Rao consequent to his taking over as the Chief Minister of Telangana State on June 2. He had won the Assembly election from Gajwel assembly segment as well as Medak LS seat.

In the general elections, Mr. Rao had won with a majority of 3.92 lakh votes. He polled 6.57,492 votes against his nearest rival P.Sravan Kumar Reddy (2,60,463) and BJP’s Ch. Narendranath (1,81,177).
