Medak Collector introduces ‘Telegram’ among officials

September 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 28, 2016 02:40 pm IST - SANGAREDDY:

Collector Ronald Rose has introduced the district officials to ‘Telegram’, a similar application to ‘WhatsApp’ for an easy and immediate communication between them.

All the officers were directed to use smart phones with Internet connectivity so that they can be in touch with senior officials and colleagues without any delay.

Meanwhile, an official, who adamantly responded to the suggestion made by the Collector to have a smart phone, was reportedly taken to task.

Three groups - District Officials Medak, MPDOs Medak and Tehsildars Medak – were formed in which the Collector is a common member. All the group members were asked to acknowledge after they receive messages in Telegram.

In some instances, they were asked to upload reports in the Telegram by noon or evening to avoid any delay.

One such instance was about the number of labourers attended for work on a particular day and the number of habitations covered.

Grievance redressal programme

Though Mr. Ronald Rose took charge as the Collector of Medak about two weeks ago, for the first time he attended grievances redressal programme held at Collectorate from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m on Monday.

He heard the grievances which were even more than 30-days-old.

Mr. Rose enquired about the status of the grievances from the officers concerned and directed them to address the issue then and there itself.

Earlier in the day, the Collector participated in the video conference with mandal level officials.

He had ordered them to present in full strength at the conference without giving any complaints about technical snags.
