In a development towards ‘cleansing’ major revenue earning departments, the department has transferred several officers in different wings.

More than 180 officers of the rank of Excise inspector were shifted while several assistant excise superintendents as also excise superintendents were ransferred. This is in addition to the commercial tax officers and assistant CTOs who were transferred either on promotion or otherwise.

Senior officials of the Revenue department said those on the transfer list had been serving in the same place and position for long.

The department had represented the matter to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao during a recent meeting on reports of drug supply. The Chief Minister had asked the officials concerned to send the list of the proposed transfers. “The transfers are made after the Chief Minister gave his consent,” the official said.
