Deputy Inspector General of Police, Y.Gangadhar on Thursday said that there was no presence of Maoists in any part of Nalgonda district, though wall posters, in the name of CPI (Maoist), appeared three times in past one month.

Speaking to news reporters here on Thursday, Mr. Gangadhar, said that the pasting of wall posters could have been done by some sympathisers or miscreants. “Our teams have been closely monitoring the movement of people here and there was no presence of Maoists at all in any parts of the district, he said.

On Thursday too some wall posters in the name of CPI (M) Maoists appeared at Koyyalagudem and Lingojigudem villages of Choutuppal mandal. The Maoists have called upon people to fight against anti people’s polices of Telangana Rastra Samithi's (TRS) government and also asked people to make the Maoist Martyrs day a success.

In the past the posters appeared in Gattuppal village of Chandur mandal and at Gudipally Cross under Gurrampode police station limits.

The DIG also called upon police personnel in district to form ‘Maitri’ teams in all the villages as part of friendly policing and reach people. Superintendent of Police T. Prabhakar Rao and OSD, P.Radhakishan Rao were present.
