Vexed over the indifference of police officials, Gundur Srinivas, a tailor, attempted suicide at the District Collectorate in Warangal on Monday.

Mr. Srinivas bought 80 sq yards of land from former Congress corporator M. Sarangapani at Jawahar colony four years ago. He paid an amount of Rs 3.20 lakh as agreed. But Sarangapani refused to register the land and sold it to another person. He lodged a complaint with the police, who reportedly failed to assist him. He came with his wife and children to the Collector’ office, where he tried to set himself ablaze. However, those around managed to foil his attempt.
