Magicians ask villagers to shun superstition

March 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:59 am IST - SANGAREDDY:

Villagers should shun superstition and desist from attacking innocent people, Samala Venu, president of the Magicians Academy, said on Sunday.

Mr. Venu, along with other magicians, held a road show held at Toopran mandal’s Muppireddypally village, where a man suspected of practising ‘black magic’ was lynched by villagers a few days ago.

Addressing the villagers, Mr. Venu said that the road show was part of the social responsibility of Magicians Academy towards eradicating superstition such as black magic.

“Magic is an art that involves science, but not miracles. In this modern age, it is shocking that such acts happen. Hence, they should be stop and people should be educated,” he said.

More than 500 villagers gathered during the road show and magic programmes that were held for about four hours.

The programme was conducted in association with the local police and village administration.
