The investigation into the single-digit lottery scam in Karnataka, in which allegations of involvement of a senior IPS officer have come to light, now seems all set to spread into a south India wide link of politically connected individuals, according to State police sources.
Probe has also indicated that the alleged “kingpin” who was arrested, Pari Rajan, may just have been in-charge of running the operations in the State along with another notorious online lottery operator from Mysuru.
While cops are looking into the role of one ‘Michael,’ the probe has now led them to a well-known lottery kingpin from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, who holds sway in Kerala as well. The lottery kingpin has been at the centre of controversies, for his political connections in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Karnataka says it is open for an Enforcement Directorate probe into the controversy
