Litterateur Chukka Reddy passes away

Eminent litterateur, founder-member of Karimnagar Consumer Council and Lok Satta Udyama Samstha and other voluntary organisations and editor of “Navata” Telugu fortnightly, K Chukka Reddy (72) passed away while undergoing a treatment in a hospital in Hyderabad on Thursday.

A native of Chegyam village in Velgatoor mandal, he began writing in childhood and published short stories in Telugu weekly magazines. He started “Navata” Telugu fortnightly in 1978 and successfully published till 1990 and later shifted to web edition and remained its editor till his last.

The Karimnagar consumer council and Lok Satta udyama samstha district unit leaders N Srinivas, Prakash Holla, R Chandra Prabhakar, Ganga Rao, Gangadhar, IMA doctors Bhoom Reddy, Sridhar Rao, leading businessman of the district Kesarimal Karwa and others expressed shock over the demise of Chukka Reddy and consoled the family members.

Government Chief Whip Koppula Eshwar, former Telugu Academy director V Kondal Rao, Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya retired joint director Rama Rao, senior journalist Devulapalli Amar, and Karimnagar film society president Madishetty Gopal condoled the death.
