Let’s work hand-in-hand: KCR to employees

Urges them to work towards the expectations of people

June 02, 2014 07:54 pm | Updated November 27, 2021 04:20 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao commenced his work in the seat of administration, the Secretariat, on Monday by asking Telangana employees to work to fulfil people’s hopes.

Speaking at a reception organised by the Telangana Secretariat Employees’ Associations, Mr. Rao tried to win over the employees from the word go by stating that some previous governments were genetically opposed to employees as if they were not part of people.

Stating that the development of Telangana, making every agriculture field green and providing every working hand an opportunity was monumental work, the Chief Minister said he believed that the development being expected by people was possible only with the involvement and dedication of government employees.

Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said the TRS government would be cent per cent an employee-friendly government and promised that he would provide them with facilities and welfare activities better than any other State in the country. Telangana employees will be given a special Telangana formation increment at the earliest and as assured in the past, their pay scales would be brought on a par with the Central government staff.

On the Pay Revision Commission, Mr. Rao said his government would ask the panel to expedite the work with “jet speed” and implement its recommendations. Stating that the service rules for different categories of employees were complex and confusing, he promised to standardise them and make them a model for other States.

“I have some more packages for the employees in mind but since the government is new and has no laws and acts to support his ideas, I can’t specify them all now,” the Chief Minister said. Telangana has all the resources and capacity to be one of the wealthiest States in the country and for that, the employees are required to extend wholehearted support, he said.

Earlier, when Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao reached the Secretariat from the new entrance created for Telangana blocks around 12.15 p.m., he was given a warm welcome by the employees. He offered prayers at the ‘Nalla Pochamma’ temple before proceeding towards C-Block, where the CM’s office is located.

Telangana Secretariat Employees’ Associations leaders Narender Rao, Shravan Kumar, Pavankumar Yadav and Mamatha promised to put in extra hours of work for the development of Telangana. TRS MPs K. Keshava Rao, K. Kavitha and MLA V. Srinivas Goud, who is also the honorary president of TGOs, were present. Mr. Goud announced one-and-a-half day’s salary of TGOs as their contribution to CMRF.
