Prof. Nany Stanford Bliar and Dr. Mark L. Genser of Cardinal Stritch University, USA, said that there was a need for ‘leadership with values’ and Mahatma Gandhi stands as testimony to that.

Delivering a talk on ‘Leaders as servants’ held at MNR Educational Institutes at Fasalwadi on Monday jointly organised by the Institute and Cardinal Stritch University, Prof. Nany urged the students to become leaders to lead the nation. Saying that lot of changes are taking place in the 21st century, she said that leadership with paradigm shift in concepts was the need of the hour to face challenges being thrown by emerging situations.

Giving specific difference between management and leadership, Dr. Mark said that leaders have to lead the people whereas management means dealing with situations and crisis. “Leaders will have influence on the people and society as a whole. Sometimes there will be bad leadership as well like Hitler, who influenced society. Be clear about the values you practice and follow,” said Dr. Mark. He has also pointed about the responsibility of leaders in identifying hidden talent in the workers and putting them at the right place to steer the organisation for a higher standards.

Prasad Gollanapalli explained that the programme was aimed at creating leadership with focus on leaders as servants and values. MNR Group chairman MN Raju and others were present.
