Last rites of Dendukuri performed

The funeral of Nonagenarian Dendukuri Someswar Rao who passed away here on Saturday night took place on Monday.

He is survived by four sons.

Someswar Rao earned a name as local historian by painting, photographic and writing about the Kakatiya history, monuments and inscriptions for decades. He was a great source of information for research scholars and media personnel who thronged his house located in Kishanpura near Chaitanya college in Hanamkonda.

Government advisor B V Papa Rao, senior citizens M Panduranga Rao, S Laxmana Murthy, Parcha Kodanda Rama Rao, Lion Venkat Reddy and several others paid tributes to Someswar Rao at his house on Monday before the funeral took place.

Born on May 31 1924 he served as a teacher nearly for 30 years at Andhra Vithyabhi Vardhini (AVV) Junior College situated in Warangal town.
