KU retired professor receives UGC fellowship

Kakatiya University retired professor Gurajala Sudershan has been awarded the prestigious UGC Emeritus Fellowship. He topped the list of professors selected by the UGC for fellowship at the national level. He would pursue research on ‘Management of water resources in drought-prone areas of Andhra Pradesh’ for two years. He would get an honorarium of Rs. 31,000 per month, besides a contingency of Rs. 50,000 per annum.

After serving the Kakatiya University for more than 30 years, Prof. Sudershan retired in 2008.

He was the first Ph.D. recipient from KU in Social Science. He published two books, 35 research articles besides presenting 90 research papers in national and international seminars. Five research scholars completed their research under his supervision for Ph.D. Of the seven research projects he completed, two were adjudicated as the best at national level.
